Softech through its efforts, is reaching to kids of private and government schools equipping them with crucial computer skills to prepare them for tomorrow. Softech is working actively to make computer an intrinsic part of the lives of children and also, those of the socially, economically challenged section of the society. We are implementing specialised training to empower young learners with crucial IT skills through effective computer courses.

The Objectives of Softech Computer Education is to promote, propagate and profess computer education. It is aiming at long range development programs thereby creating a knowledgeable society. We through computer literacy programs are planning to provide vocational computer training to provide self-employment & create more and more job avenues. We are trying to reach out to urban, rural and remote areas where accessibility to computer education for people in such areas is difficult thereby working for the upliftment of deprived sections, scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, economically and socially backward sections of the society.

Need of the Computer Education

In order to take the advantage of this marvelous technology (Computers) by the people of Unnao, a proper computer education was a must and to meet this need and demand of the people, Softech took the initiative and has been providing its Computer Education services for last 19 years. Today there is a high demand for computer literates as most companies hire people who have a good knowledge in computers. The knowledge of computers has become a crucial element to compete in today’s job market. That is not all if we calculate the amount of time we interact with our computer on a daily basis, we will perhaps be surprised to know that apart from current job one happen to use computers most of the time.

Computers are not only storage devices and processing units, but also are excellent communication media. They are the means to access the Internet and get connected to the world. Computers can be used to access a vast knowledge base and search for information archives over the Internet. Institute (Infrastructure & Amenities)

Locality

The institute is located at the heart of the city. The accessibility to the institute is easy and convenient to the people as the bus station and the railway station are located in a radius of 1 Km.

Infrastructure

The center is possessing double storied building. Center is a judicious mix of tradition with modernity and is equipped with all amenities. The Center has 3 separate classrooms for theory where approx more than 25 students can be accommodated, two separate air conditioned computer lab equipped with latest computer system. There is a well-maintained library for students to sit and study and an administrative office.

Center has an excellent infrastructure and modern facilities, which assist in conducting classes. They are designed to provide complete comfort for intense hours of classroom teaching and interaction.

We have well maintained Computer Lab with more than 40 computers with proper backup facility, all systems are connected through LAN. The computer lab & classrooms are equipped with latest equipment,, like LED & OHP Projectors, Laser jet printers and scanner etc. Facility of Internet (Broadband) accessibility is made available on all systems.

The Institute is equipped with CCTV cameras for better surveillance of activity within the Institute.

Power Supply

Availability of generator set having capacity of 5 KVA maintains uninterrupted supply of electricity during class hours.

Library

Library encompasses wide range of books for students, enabling them to make best use of library resources. At the heart of the Center is categorically designed Library to meet the information needs of the students and faculty. It is stacked with morethan 500 books on a wide range of subjects. There is also an availability of Computer related Journals, Magazines and Books related with the subjects.

Teaching Methodology

Teaching, at the institute evolves a cohesive, learning. We emphasize on professional development of students for which we are providing competitive edge, by standardizing pedagogy and teaching methodology. It also involves sharing of work as well as learning processes with peers and faculty, whose feedback and guidance is crucial to the students understanding, development and maturity.

The salient features of instruction at Softech Computer Education includes the following:

Study Material: Course materials are the primary form of instructional materials. Candidates are supplied with printed study material in the form of book.. Course material are specially designed by a team of faculty . Therefore, candidates have to draw mainly upon the book provided by the institute. The course material is sufficient to the extent of about 80% to 90% to write any assignments and prepare for the modules examinations. However, candidates are strongly advised to refer to other sources and texts books, suggested under each module in order to get a comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter, whenever necessary.

Academic Counseling: Counseling is an important activity in education. It is totally different from conventional classroom teaching. Counselors answer the candidate’s questions. In these sessions besides clarifying their doubts they help them overcome difficulties which they may face while going through the text. These counseling sessions also give candidates an opportunity to interact with their peers.

Assignments: Assignments are an integral component of computer education. The main purpose of assignments is to test their comprehension of the course material they receive and also help them to better comprehend the courses by providing feedback to them. The faculty evaluates these assignments and also provides feedback on the candidate’s performance.

Practical Sessions: Depending upon the subject, an optimal amount of practical training is also imparted to candidates in the institute.

Project Report: The candidates also prepare a project report as a part of the curriculum and submit the same for evaluation and assessment.

We have provided training to the Employees of Govt. Organizations/Students so that computerization of their respective departments may be carried out to provide services to the citizens and superiors in a time bound and transparent manner.

In this regard, our organization has provided computer trainings to the employees of following departments:

• Providing NIELIT (Formerly DOEACC) ‘O’-Level Course to OBC candidates (below poverty line) of Unnao under scheme being run by the Backward Class Welfare Department , U.P since 2008.
• Trained students under Skill Development Initiative scheme (SDIS) through (DGE&T) Govt. of India.
• Provide training to 300 students of U.P Fire Training Center, Unnao.
• Trained the Staff of U.P Forest Department, Unnao.
• Trained the Staff of Economic and Statistical Department, Unnao.
• Trained the Staff of Veterinary Department, Unnao.
• Trained 365 Government/ Private teachers on Computer Aided Learning Software under Intel Teach To the Future Program, to ensure influx of high-qualified new workers, which is much needed by a progress driven Industrial nation seeking to survive.
• To meet the above objective, the institution has also imparted Computer Training to under privileged and ethnic groups under Institute of Entrepreneurship Development, Uttar Pradesh.
